The Student Wordsmith

The Student Wordsmith is a fantastic new online space for poems and prose that explore the student experience. Through its online blog posts, forum topics, and national competitions, the Student Wordsmith aims to bring together the work of great new writers.

The platform supports both novice writers who have found their passion, but need a confidence boost alongside tips and tricks to improve their craft, and students or recent graduates who have a higher level of education within the field of English, but could benefit from national exposure and a wider supportive community.

To launch with a bang the creative platform needed a punchy visual identity and matching online space.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Sophie, the company’s founder, and felt it was vital to create an identity to reflect her contagious enthusiasm, bright personality and style. The end result is a bold, distinctive logo, blog and full branding package that will grow as the brand gains momentum.

Working with a dozen eggs made my life so much easier when it came to beginning my business project. Their eye for colour and detail, as well as ensuring that they captured all that I wanted within my branding, was flawless. I was constantly pleased with the work that they provided and they opened my eyes up to a world of possibilities for my company. They have been a pleasure to work with and I would thoroughly recommend them as I would definitely use them again in the future.

Website design

Whether it’s creating the ability to buy a Student Wordsmith publication, or learning more about publishing, poetry, or thoughts on student life, the website has been designed to feel creative and accessible. Sophie was keen to use talented student illustrators for a number of projects, so we ensured the site was heavily branded – ensuring no matter which illustrative direction was established, the brand would remain consistent.
