Open Heaven

Open Heaven is a church based in Loughborough with three growing expressions focussed on students and graduates, families and the nations. The church has a heart for planting new expressions so needed a revamp of their existing logo in response to their changing demographic. Currently, the student expression meets within the students union at Loughborough, and the family gathering is within a grade 1 listed church called St Peter’s.  The variety called for a flexible brand that could be applied across a range of design outputs.

Open Heaven wanted a brand that was fun and accessible, so asked a dozen eggs to build a brand that could be applied with delight over web and print. Versatility was a key factor here – with a long list of projects that were likely to change over time. We put together brand guidelines that would be easy to apply and ensured a sense of connection and continuity between them all.

We were impressed with how a dozen eggs helped us right from the start. Along the process they were brilliant at giving us many different options and were very flexible with changes we wanted to make. We have been really happy with the results and love the new branding they have designed for us.

Over the years, a dozen eggs have worked closely with the church to ensure that their brand remained relevant. The growing church seeks to be a apostolic resource community – meaning they share the resources they have available to them. Writing courses, holding events and conferences and establishing projects – all of which have branding attached to them. We look to establish a visual language over time that becomes instantly recognisable as Open Heaven, whilst allowing for the flexibility of any resources working outside of Open Heaven’s walls.

a dozen eggs have undertaken a number of church branding projects including St George-in-the-East and the St Peter’s centre.
